NEWDAYS FACTORYは、素材やフォルムの可能性を再発見し、プロダクトを通じて日々の暮らしに新しい価値観や発見を生み出すための工房です。関西の住宅リノベーション業界で30年以上にわたり空間設計とインテリアデザインに携わってきた大畑充弘によって2013年に設立されました。 空間づくりの中で培われた素材やフォルム、スケールへの感覚をもとに、暮らしに自然に溶け込みながらも、新しい風景を生み出すプロダクトを制作しています。主な素材には、「リサイクルの王様」とも呼ばれるアルミニウムや、軽量で高い強度を持つFRP（繊維強化プラスチック）を使用しています。これらの素材は少ロットでの自由な造形を可能にすると同時に、軽量であることから輸送時のエネルギー負荷を低減し、制作から物流までを含めた低エネルギーなものづくりにつながっています。 私たちは、長く使われることこそが持続可能なものづくりであると考えています。過度な装飾を避け、普遍性のあるフォルムと適切なサイズ感を大切にしながら、空間に静かな変化をもたらし、時間とともに愛着が深まる存在を目指しています。NEWDAYS FACTORYは、素材と向き合い、形を探求しながら、プロダクトを通じて日々の暮らしを少しだけ新しくすることを目指しています。 2013年、NEWDAYSとして活動を開始 2021年、大阪・豊中に工房兼ストアを開設し、NEWDAYS FACTORYとして本格始動 工場長／大畑充弘 ABOUT NEWDAYS FACTORY is a design workshop dedicated to rediscovering the potential of materials and creating products that bring new values and discoveries into everyday life.It was founded by Mitsuhiro Ohata, who has worked in spatial design and interior design for over 30 years in the Kansai renovation industry.Drawing on his deep understanding of materials, form, and scale developed through designing spaces, he creates products that naturally integrate into daily life while introducing a new presence within the environment. The primary materials used are aluminum—often called the “king of recyclable materials”—and FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic), known for its light weight and high strength.These materials allow for flexible small-batch production and expressive forms, while their light weight helps reduce energy consumption during transportation, supporting a low-energy approach from production to delivery. We believe that longevity itself is the essence of sustainability. By avoiding excessive decoration and focusing on timeless forms and appropriate scale, we aim to create objects that bring subtle change to a space and grow in familiarity and attachment over time.NEWDAYS FACTORY explores form through an ongoing dialogue with materials, creating products that quietly renew everyday life. Activities began in 2013 under the name NEWDAYS. In 2021, a workshop and store were established in Toyonaka, Osaka, marking the full launch of NEWDAYS FACTORY. Factory Director Mitsuhiro Ohata 【所在地】 工房(小さなSHOP併設) 〒560-0085 大阪府豊中市上新田1-24 千里中央パークヒルズM棟109 【業務内容】 ライフスタイルに関わるプロダクトデザイン・制作・販売 【連絡先】 090-3721-6219 [email protected] 「ニューデイズが考えるサスティナブルな商品や活動」 素材・・・リサイクル性が高く廃棄物とならない素材 デザイン・・・工業的かつ有機的フォルム、愛着が湧くものが結果長く使うものに 質感・・・大量生産でツるんとした物ではなく、少ロットで個体差やゆらぎのあるもの 物流・・・アルミの比重は鉄や銅の1／3の軽さで燃料などが少なくお届けできます 納期・・・その場限りと手間を省いて急げば失うもの(物流エネルギーや商品の廃棄率)も多く、ゆったり待って頂いてこそ人や商品、有資源との最適化が出来る 価格・・・サプライチェーンなどで産み出す大量生産・大量消費、そして高い利益追求ではなく、地産地消で産み出す適正なバランスある価格 感性・・・義務感からではなく「愉しい」から低エネルギーを始めれるモノやコト 未来・・・時間の積み重ねやモノの背景こそ価値へ 「チムニーってなあに？」 世界で一番ゴミを燃やしている国、それが日本。 国土が狭いので焼却炉が世界でもダントツ多く(1000か所以上)、煙突(チムニー)は日本らしさを表したアイテムとも言えます。 ゴミ問題は環境だけでなく、エネルギー問題にも繋がる重要な日本のテーマ。 そこで考えたのがゴミとの付き合いを楽しく変えていけるようなゴミ箱。愛着の持てるゴミ箱と楽しく能動的にゴミと付き合っていく手段がチムニー。ゴミ箱からゴミとの付き合いをより持続可能なものに変えていきます。
